Here, paradise stretches from the Madawaska and Ottawa valleys into the Highlands of Haliburton and dramatic rock outcrops name Bancroft the Mineral Capital of Canada. Those interested in geology, crystal gemology, or the history of mining will find this an extraordinary place.
With the highest water-land ratio in Ontario, the area has scores of sparkling streams, lakes, ponds and rivers. Mid-1800, these waterways were the chief system of transport, serving the flourishing forest industry.
Artists are drawn to the lush wildlife and some, the shadowy ghost towns, monuments to pioneers who tended farms, mines, and mills that now rest. Recently, TV Ontario voted Bancroft "The Most Talented Town in Ontario".
You deserve a piece of heaven, come visit the magnificent landscape that provides a spectacular backdrop for thousands of kilometers of groomed snowmobile trails, lazy summer boat trips or tours of autumn leaves.
